During an AguaHara session, you will be accompanied and held in the warm water. Each session is unique and tailored to your needs at that moment. We might use floaters and/or a nose clip, depending on your preferences.
AguaHara provides:
“We all come from the sea, literally and metaphorically. The human body is approximately 80% water. The sea is the cradle of billions of years of development. Practicing AguaHara creates a space for wonder, connection, and contemplation.”
We, Gabriel and ElinMaria, live in close connection with water on a small island in the Finnish Archipelago. We have also spent many months each year next by the Andaman Sea, daily researching waterwork. Our work is deeply influenced by our experienced relationship with natural waters. We offer Aguahara treatments and training for both beginners and those who have been practicing Aguahara for a longer period of time.
In an AguaHara Treatment session, you are gently held and moved by us; flowing with the water, working on your tissues and nervous system. This practice offers numerous benefits, including:
~ Softening of tissues, supporting mobility, and aiding the body’s overall metabolism (such as blood flow, cellular respiration, and digestion).
~ Support for the body and nervous system to access calm and recovery mechanisms, reducing stress and anxiety-related issues. Reduction of muscle and joint pain.
~ Benefits in surgical recovery
~ Emotional integration and interoception.
~ Recovery and support for pregnancy and the postpartum process.
~ A space to simply be and be held.
Accompanied by another, you are held in a moment of pure being, a practice of loving kindness.
AguaHara trainings offer a deep journey into yourself and your relationship with water. You will learn the techniques for holding and moving another in water and how to facilitate a treatment session. AguaHara is a practice of loving presence, cultivating the ability to read, listen, and accompany another person’s journey. Each moment is unique, and each session is guided by an intuitive ability to flow with what arises. You will develop your loving kindness, meditative presence and openness to what unfolds.
Our basic trainings are structured in three levels (I-III). In addition, we offer PRO advanced training’s and annual repetition courses and community meetings for those who have completed the basic courses.
To begin AguaHara training, start with the basic surface course (Level I). Following that, progress through the basic underwater course (Level II) and then the advanced underwater course (Level III). We offer these courses annually, each spanning three weekends. After completing these core courses, you can choose from our various advanced training modules, which are 1-2 days in length.
Moving Heart’s trainings incorporate somatic movement practices for deeper awareness and embodied presence. We explore anatomical perspectives from a somatic understanding of the body and its movement in water. Our work is characterized by a personal connection to water as a whole, both within the human being and in the world’s natural waters. We have as well developed sessions for cold water treatments combined with sauna ceremonies.
In our trainings, you will experience a supportive community, with ample space for your individual journey. You can study AguaHara with us in both natural waters and pools.
We intend to foster:
~ Deepen your own relationship with water
~ Learning of detailed techniques for moving people safely in the water. This includes various maneuvers for different body types and situations.
~ Ability to be present, read, listen, and accompany another person’s journey.
~ Authenticity and awareness in your own being and bodily movement.
~ Intuitive flow of movement and dance in water.
~ Deeper experience of your fluid body and our dependency and connection to natural waters.
~ Conscious touch and unconditional holding.
~ Conscious breathing.
I am deeply moved by the creative and healing power of AguaHara and dance in water. I enjoy that together we can create a moment for all of us to explore each person’s own way of moving. I love to dance. I love to breathe through my moving body. And I love water –Gabriel
Gabriel began floating people in the hot springs of Brazil and Ecuador in 2012. He is a qualified AguaHara Instructor and teacher (all levels) and has been teaching regularly since 2014. Gabriel is currently the most active AguaHara Instructor teaching in Europe.
For me water-work has had a deep impact on my life. I love to move with water, not just in the sense of aguahara but in daily life. Living with close interaction to natural water is central to me. I’m genuinely nerdy about our internal fluid systems and how they can improve our mobility and sense of aliveness. — ElinMaria
ElinMaria has studied aguahara and dance in water since 2015. She is certified AguaHara practioner for Level III and as well qualified assistant. She has several in-depths training’s on nervous system recovery through interoseption/aromatics and compassion-based approaches.
We are both strongly influenced by practices of compassion and loving kindness and this is a base for our work with water. We have organized trainings and courses in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Thailand and around the world.
We live on a profoundly blue planet; without water, we cannot exist.
How we relate to water is crucial for future generations.
May our work with water support healing, not only for individuals but for the benefit of the whole.
AguaHara can increase heart awareness, compassion, and the experience of our co-existence.
In Finland, AguaHara is now a growing community, with over 60 people trained by us. We offer annual advance trainings for those who wish to repeat or deepen their waterwork. One of our trainings takes place in the Finnish Archipelago National Park, where we explore AguaHara in the Archipelago Sea.
After completing basic trainings, participants can also practice together in independently initiated, city-specific groups. Currently, active groups exist in Helsinki and Tampere. Community is an important part of AguaHara. Welcome to the water family!
AguaHara draws its roots from Janzu, Watsu, and Water Dance, as well as Zen philosophy and Thai massage. It is a continuous exploration of the healing world of water, evolving not only as a bodywork technique but also as a philosophy and a community. AguaHara was founded by Alexander Siebenstern in Mexico. Since 2012, Gabriel has been actively involved in the development of AguaHara, shaping and refining his own style. This style emphasizes deep listening, unconditional holding, and incorporates elements of dance and somatics, along with the technical details of movement in water. We also prioritizes building safety as a foundation, enabling the receiver to embark on their own journey.
